To build
the bronze base for this original sculpture, artist Chris Curtis of
Stowe, Vermont wanted to shape the mesh himself. We sprayed it with
silicon bronze, and he finished it and applied the patina finish.
We will work with artists to build their designs. |

Vermont artist Kathryn Lipke chose Bauer
Art Metal to build a 8 foot long metal horn which was to be the
center of her multi media sculpture in zinc and aluminum.

SEEDPOD SCULPTURES
Seed pod sculpture sequence photos show the steps
from model to finish piece using our process. Sculpture design by
Kathryn Lipke was to be a large bronze seed that had broken apart, a
tree would be planted in their midst.
Three different seed segments were shaped
by the artist in large blocks of white Styrofoam. |
| |
Stainless steel skeletons were made for
each of the three shapes. |

Copper mesh is shaped to the models, back
section is shown. |

The front half is sprayed with zinc to
solidify the shape. |
| |
The front and back are assembled and
sprayed together on the skeleton. |
| |
The final shape is touched up and sprayed
with silicon bronze. It is then highlighted by polishing. |
