Bowls and Vessels

		This offertory and font were made for a monastery in Little Rock, Arkansas. They were formed using copper mesh to fit existing holders. The mesh forms were then sprayed with silicon bronze, and treated with a brown patina and clear sealer.

		This large bronze bowl is one of a pair that were made to serve as fountain tops. The 36 inch diameter bowl surface was made by draping copper mesh over a wood model. (See the seed pod sequence photos in the Artwork section.) The mesh was then sprayed with zinc to retain its shape and join it to the carbon steel structure. A thick layer of silicon bronze was applied over everything, finished with a brown patina and clear sealer. Our unique process using an array of materials all encapsulated with bronze was the reason we were able to deliver these bowls at less than half the cost of traditional foundry castings.
